Musicologist Raja is one of the few veterans who has a wide knowledge about the Telugu cinema, music and film personalities of olden decades.  He has watched 'Mahanati' and has found some errors, both major and minor, in the biopic.

"It's shown in the film that it's Chakrapani (Prakash Raj) garu who burnt down the reels of 'Missamma' in a fit of rage after a verbal argument with Bhanumathi garu.  It's not Chakrapani garu who did that.  It was done by Nagi Reddy garu.  This was told to me by Dasari Narayana Rao garu," Raja informs.

"That Savitri was a left-hander is shown in the film.  But when she beats up a woman (Gemini Ganesan's mistress), it's her right hand that she uses first!  Savitri was known for clenching her fist (of left hand) whenever she was angry.  It would have been nice had it been shown in the film," Raja opines.

"It's wrongly portrayed in 'Mahanati' that Savitri was sacked from the film 'Samsaram' because she couldn't get her dialogue right.  That's not true.  She was made to play the heroine's friend in the movie.  LV Prasad (Avasarala Srinivas) garu is shown telling Savitri that he wouldn't have ousted her had she got her dialogue right," Raja says.

"Gemini Ganesan is shown singing 'Raavoyi Chandamama' song in the Tamil remake of 'Missamma'.  Its Tamil version is something else.  It was a very big hit.  It would have been appropriate had the song been shown in Tamil," the Musicologist adds.

"Pingali garu was a tall, lean person.  Such a person has been played in 'Mahanati' by Sai Madhav Burra, whose personality is a total contrast," Raja says.

"GVG Krishna, who was an editor of a publication, is shown telling Samantha's character that he could not bring out his book on Savitri.  He asks her to carry the baton forward.  In fact, the book was released.  I am not sure if it was complete, but the book was released," Raja informs.

"KV Reddy (played by Krish) garu is shown addressing Singeetham Srinivas Rao garu as Singeetham.  To my knowledge, Reddy garu would never call anyone by their surname.  He would say either Mister or Mr. Srinivas Rao," Raja tells IndiaGlitz.
