Mithai trailer: Expect a well-made dark comedy

In 'Mithai', everything is quirky. A dark comedy first, it's about the crazy lives of Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi, two best buddies who go through a lot of experiences, some of them unpleasant, days before the former's marriage.

Coming with overt shades of adult comedy (read the sly reference to masturbation, the bold reference to anus job, and the condom shot), it seems to tell a coming-of-age story. Do the friends redeem themselves in the end? Or, better still, do they need salvation at all? Questions abound and the trailer only triggers interest in the self-styled ways of the friends who come with atypical attitudes.

Directed by Prashant Kumar (who has co-written dialogues with B Naresh), the film is a November release that also stars Ravi Varma, Kamal Kamaraju, Bhushan Kalyan (the 'Arjun Reddy' dean is here with Sundari, a goat whose bleat is as cute as its avatar), Swetaa Varma and Aditi Myakal.

Shot in night effect, it has music by Vivek Sagar, the guy whom our directors trust to come up with new-age output. The cinematography is by Ravi Varman Neelamegam and the visuals are unapologetically not-so-flamboyant. Editing is by Garry BH and lyrics are by Kittu Vissapragada.
