Man killed by mob for slaughtering cow

A mob violently attacked three men for butchering a cow in a forest 50 km away from Ranchi in Jharkhand.  One of the victims died on the spot while the other two are said to be in a critical state admitted to the government hospital there.

M.L. Meena a senior cop stated that usually, it is the Muslims or the low caste people who are subjected to such lynchings by the cow protection groups.  But the victims, in this case are said to belong to the majority section of the village.  Eight men have been arrested and a murder case has been registered on them.
