Modi @ 75 days: Corruption is coming down in India

Narendra Modi has been interviewed by the news agency IANS marking the completion of 75 days in office (in the second term). In the interview, the Prime Minister has expectedly gloated about his government's spectacular move of abrogating Article 370 and making J&K a Union Territory with an Assembly.

Speaking further on Kashmir, Modi said, "We have ended the status quo which persisted for 70 years. This was done with the aim of bringing the fruits of development to people. The scrapping of Article 370 is going to benefit women, children, SCs and STs. Investments will go up."

Modi also claimed that corruption is coming down in the administration. "With corruption going down, the trust in the government is going up. Tax returns are being filed in increasing numbers than ever before. We compulsorily retired some tax officials in the last few weeks. Direct Benefit Transfers has saved Rs 1.4 lakh over the years," Modi said.
