Modi, Shah involved in destabilizing government: Siddaramaiah

Siddaramaiah, the senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister, has on Tuesday said that the BJP is in the habit of "destabilizing governments". This comes amidst resignations of MLAs from Congress and JDS, whose coalition sarkar is on the verge of losing its majority status.

"People have given more votes to us. Both JD(S) and Congress together got more than 57% of votes. This time not only state BJP wing but also national level leaders like Amit Shah and Narendra Modi are involved. They are offering money, position, ministership," Siddaramaiah said.

What about the MLAs who are shifting allegiance to the BJP? "The Karnataka Congress is seeking disqualification of members for their anti-party activity. They colluded with BJP. I request them to come back and withdraw their resignation. We have decided to file a petition before the Speaker to disqualify them and request him to not accept the resignation," he said.

He added that the party has requested the Speaker to not only disqualify them but also bar them from contesting election for 6 years.
