National award winning actor Mohanlal, known for his impressive performances in numerous Malayalam classics besides also starring in Tamil movies like Iruvar, had recently starred in Lucifer, which marked the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, and the movie turned out to be a massive blockbuster.

Probably taking a cue from Prithviraj, Mohanlal had made an exciting announcement that he is all set to make his debut as a director. Mohanlal will be directing the movie Barroz - Guardian of D'Gama's treasure, which will be made on a massive budget starring himself in title role.

The movie will be a multilingual one, which will be shot in 3D, and while the entire cast and crew is yet to be announced, it has been made official that director Jijo Punnoose of My Dear Kuttichathan fame will be scripting this mega budget action adventure which will be shot in Goa.
