It was shocking news for Mollywood, the promising film director Diphan's demise had created a void in the film industry. The film industry is surely not forgotten him, and for his first death anniversary on March 13, the film fraternity has come together in Kochi to observe his death anniversary.

A film festival, expected to be held on May 5 and 6, will be named after the director, and will be called Deepen Film Festival Kochi 2018 (DFFK, 2018).
