Here let's take a look at some of the sequels that we are all looking forward to in 2022.


After the success of Dulquer Salmaan's Kurup, the makers had announced a second installment for the movie which is reportedly titled ‘Alexander’. Although the makers have not yet confirmed whether the movie ‘Alexander’ will be a sequel to ‘Kurup’, it is speculated the actor Dulquer Salmaan will be appearing in the same look as shown in the climax scene of the movie ‘Kurup’.

Though the 2015 release Aadu, starring Jayasurya in the lead role didn't make much impact on the box office, the movie became a huge hit after its release on Youtube and CDs. Jayasurya got much appreciation for playing the character Shaji Paapan. Soon the makers of the movie made a sequel titled Aadu 2, which was a humongous success at the box office. The makers had announced its third part earlier in 2020 and this time it will be released in 3D format.


After the humongous success of his directorial debut, actor Prithviraj announced the sequel to the movie titled 'Empyrean' last year. The sequel to the Mohanlal starrer political-action entertainer is expected to dwell deep into the past of the lead character Khuresh-Ab'Raam.


Bilal, the sequel to the Amal Neerad film ‘Big B’, which was released in the year 2007, is one of the most-awaited movies in Mollywood. According to some sources, director Amal Neerad will soon start the pre-production works of ‘Bilal’ this year after he completed his upcoming movie ‘Bheeshma Parvam’that also stars Mammootty in the lead.


Mammootty had been shooting for the supposedly fifth installment of his superhit CBI franchise, Recently the actor Mammootty unveiled a glimpse of his look as Sethurama Iyer via his official Facebook handle, making the fans go all the way excited. Directed by K. Madhu under the script penned down by SN Swamy, the movie will also bring back Jagathy Sreekumar to cinema as he will be playing a major role in the film as the CBI officer Vikram.
