More sops for 'Periyar'

Puducherry government to offer financial aid to the film on Periyar.
The Union territory of Puducherry is considering offering financial assistance to film on social reformer Periyar E V Ramaswamy Naicker as requested by leader of the opposition, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said.
A decision in this regard would soon be taken, he said after unveiling a statue of Periyar at Karaikal, an enclave of the union territory.
It may be recalled that Tamilnadu government had extended Rs 95 lakh as financial assistance for Periyar, which features Sathyaraj in the title role.
