Saudi Arabia gets its first movie screening after 35 long years!

After a 35 year long ban, Saudi Arabia got its first cinema screening with the latest Hollywood hit ‘Black Panther’yesterday. American movie theatre company AMC screened the movie at its single theatre screen in Riyadh.

Though it was only a private screening with 500 viewers by invitation, it is said that screenings for the public will begin by May 1.In addition to it, AMC has also stated that men and women will be able to sit together, or choose men/women only screenings as per their wish.

The Saudi film industry will reportedly grow into a billion dollar industry at the same time creating employment opportunities. Well, one must say that it’s a good news for Saudi people!
