Mrs. India finalist found murdered by suitor

Shelja Dwivedi, the Miss India Earth finalist of 2017, was on Saturday murdered by an Army Major named Nikhil Handa. Shelja, the learned and socially-conscientious wife of Major Amit Dwivedi, police have said, had had an affair with her killer since 2015.
For quite a few months, Handa had been insisting that Shelja marry him. But she kept on resisting Handa's overtures. It was in the New Delhi Cantonment area that the suitor criminally and brutally slit Shelja's throat in a car and ran away, only to be arrested in Meerut on Sunday.
The murderer himself is married and has two kids. It was on the basis of a CCTV camera footage that the police could zero in on the hideout.
