A massive fire broke out at approximately 3.15 pm today in the state-run telecom company MTNL at Mumbai's Bandra West area. Around 100 people are feared trapped on the terrace of the building, according to reports. 14 fire tenders have arrived at the spot for rescue operations.

As it is a working day, many MTNL employees were present inside the building, along with a few outsiders. The fire is confined to the third and fourth floors of the building, reportedly. So far, 15 people have been safely evacuated from the fire, while at least a 100 are feared trapped. Along with the 14 fire engines, a robot, and an ambulance have arrived at the spot. "Fire fighting and rescue operations are in progress and efforts to rescue people stranded on upper floors and terrace of the building are on," an official said. No casualties have been reported so far.
