600 theaters for two films

The festival season is a real bumper crop for Kannada films. Never in the history had just two films occupied maximum of theatre in Karnataka. Out of 700 theatres in Karnataka nearly 600 theaters goes to Mukunda Murari` and Santhu Straightforward` – October 28 2016 releases on the eve of festival of lights.

There has been tremendous opening for the two big films. On an average 1000 plus shows are screened by each of these two films is also indication of stupendous collection of first day.

Such big films coming and staying in the theatres is a big boon to Kannada filmdom. There is already Dodmane Hudga, Naagarahavu and Jaguar doing well in the box office. The additional two films that with three super stars – Upendra, Sudeep and Yash sharing two films is a new record in the collection says film pundits.

At the main theatre Menaka on KG Road Friday morning there was procession by Upendra fans, burn crackers and rejoiced the release of Mukunda Murari`. Inside the theatre when Upendra and Kichcha Sudeep came together the flower petals were thrown on the silver screen. At Subedar Chantram Road fans of Yash burnt crackers and celebrated joy of release of Santhu Straightforward`.

With two big Hindi films hitting – Ae Dil Mushkil and Shivay – the competition is stiff in the Malls for Kannada films.
