Multiplex headaches

Seems like new and fresh problems are being created in Mollywood industry, which is of no use to the makers or exhibitors in Mollywood. The latest of the issues is around the release of MammoottyÂs ÂThappana in one of the multiplexes in Kochi.
For our readerÂs information, there is a problem running in-between the distributors of Mollywood movies and other owners of multiplexes regarding the revenue sharing of the income generated through the ticket sales of Mollywood films. The multiplexes have recently increased their share on the ticket sales and hence the new issue. And so the distributors have decided not to release any of the new films in multiplexes.(Bollywood also faced a similar issue years ago, which was then sorted out amicably , but in favour of multiplex owners) But producer Milan Jaleel has gone beyond this stipulations and has released his ÂThappana in a Kochy multiplex. While other recent movies like ÂFriday and ÂMr Marumakan were not given to multiplexes, the release of ÂThappana is sure to be another case for fight among the distributors.
