Nearly a day after the Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad informed that terrorists arrested by them had done recce of match locations for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, the city police has denied any input on the threat to the tournament.

Clarifying the same earlier this afternoon, DCP (Operations) Sanjay Latkar reportedly stated in a press notice, “At present, no input or information has been received from any organization regarding a recce being carried out by any terror group on Hotel Trident, Wankhede Stadium and the route between these two places.” IPL matches are set to be played across Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium, Brabourne stadium, DY Patil Stadium, and MCA Stadium, Pune from Saturday.

As per a report by a news agency, security guidelines that have been released by the police ahead of the IPL matches state that the IPL teams’ buses will be escorted by a combat vehicle and that a separate emergency exit at the stadiums has been designated for the safety of players.
