Munnabhai or Anthony?

Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi made a super-successful pair, the last time around when they were together. Yes, it was ‘Munnabhai MBBS’. And they are back with the sequel ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. But the squeeze in the situation has arrived with Raj Kaushal’s ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’ where Sanju and Arshad are paired together in a guru-chela avatar.

Releasing on 4th August, this snazzily designed film also seems to be a comedy. And coming so-close to the release of (And that too before) ‘Lage Raho…’ somehow it has upset the Vinod Chopra camp.

Munnabhai director Raju Hirani on the face of it looks unperturbed, but he knows that the novelty value of the crackling chemistry between the lead pair shouldn’t get diluted with the release of some other movie having them in somewhat similar situations. Vinod Chopra on his part has pushed the release of his ambitious ‘Eklavya’ starring Saif Ali Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan to December as he wants to give his everything to ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. Kaushal’s ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’ on its part looks slick with interesting promos creating curiosity amongst the viewers.
