Murugadoss says Rakul is the leading lady

Rakul Preet Singh may have missed out on acting opposite Superstar Mahesh Babu, but luck has beckoned her for a second time. This time, the project is bigger than what she had missed previously (Brahmotsavam. And since Brahmotsavam was a big flop, Rakul might just have heaved a sigh of relief for not being its heroine).
It's AR Murugadoss' Rs. 100 cr Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual.
Although the media had reported weeks ago about Rakul replacing Parineeti Chopra, it's only today that the director has confirmed the pretty actress' presence. Responding to Murugadoss' tweet, Rakul has thanked and said that she felt privileged being a part of this prestigious venture.
Note that Rakul has replaced Parineeti Chopra after the latter couldn't agree to the remuneration offered.
The movie's shoot will commence from the 29th of this month. Music-directed by Harris Jayaraj, this one is said to have been titled as Vasco Da Gama. Mahesh will be seen playing a RAW officer. One wonders if Rakul will be an officer, too.
