Director Mysskin apologized publicly for his controversial speech during the ‘Bottle Radha’ event and also explained his perspective. The incident had caused uproar within the film fraternity, with many expressing discontent. Later, at the teaser launch of the Tamil film ‘Phat Girl,’ directed by Vetrimaaran and Anurag Kashyap, Mysskin addressed the issue again on stage.

Vetrimaaran remarked during the event, “This is Mysskin’s first public appearance after the ‘Bottle Radha’ controversy. We had a long conversation after that incident, and he said, ‘Points noted, Vetri.’ It’s good to see immediate accountability, and we should all adopt this. Owning responsibility and apologizing when someone is hurt is very important.”

Speaking on the apology, Mysskin said, “I begin by apologizing to lyricist Thamarai, though she had criticized me earlier. I extend my apology to director Lenin Bharathi, actor Aruldoss, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, and my producer Thanu as well. Even to the friend who commented about throwing a shoe at me, I express regret.”

Mysskin clarified that some of his comments during the earlier event had come off poorly, noting that they were intended humorously but had been misunderstood. He maintained that he has always respected cinema and the platform it provides. Addressing criticism, he stated that his films always deliver social messages and love. He ended by sincerely apologizing to everyone and emphasized his deep love for films, people, and animals, requesting forgiveness for his earlier remarks.
