Yuvan Shankar Raja is the busiest composer around and he's composing music yet again for dynamic hero Karthi. Interestingly all of Karthi's movies but for one - `Aayirathil Oruvan' so far have been composed by Yuvan and the music in those movies have been chart busters. Yuvan has composed four songs in the album. The team of `Naan Mahaan Alla' would have thought of not ending the album with a sad song and hence concluded the album by repeating a positive number like `Va Va Nilava Pudichi'.

1. Va Va Nilava Pudichi - Listen here

Singer: Rahul Nambiar

Lyricist: Na. Muthukumar

Yuvan's ideas seem to be ever fresh. Composing a typical commercial song is nothing demanding but making it lively and peppy lies on the hands of the composer and Yuvan's got the right mix that is needed. Starting the song with a hum alongside harmonium gives you a retro feel but Rahul Nambiar starts off lively and continues till the very end with the same tempo though it is not monotonous. Yuvan's filled the space between verses with classy flute notes and passionate folk beats and end of the main verses, the chorus is put to good effect. Na. Muthukumar's lyrics suggest the attitude of the hero towards life. A decent start to the album!

2. Iragai Pole - Listen here

Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja, Tanvisha

Lyricist: Yugabharathi

Yuvan's an amazing composer and he deservers any other adjective superlative to it. The vocalist in him is getting better by the day. Give attention to the beginning of this song and you'll realise he's started with a perfect balance of his pitch. Once the first verse completes, he slowly increases the tempo and reaches his comfort pitch level. The beats in the background along with the chorus bytes compliment the song, all throughout. The fillers are amazing with techno beats and hip-hop mixing.

Yuvan's sung many songs in the past and if observed keenly his balance in the high pitch is not right yet, therefore in this song, he's stuck to his comfort zone and he's sung an outstanding song! Of course with due credit to lyricist Yugabharathi, to pen a romantic song!

Bravo Yuvan, you rightly claimed this one to be your best! And for Yuvan's fans, if you've had a favourite of Yuvan's song sung by himself then that would go to the second place, with `Irugai Pole' reaching pinnacle! Undoubtedly the pick of the album!

3. Oru Malai Neram - Listen here

Singers: Javed Ali, Shilpa Rao

Lyricist: Na. Muthukumar

A melodious duet that takes the slow to fast music route. Singers Javed Ali and Shilpa Rao sound new as they sing the lyrics penned by Na. Muthukumar. Yuvan's composition is great. The song starts off with an `aalaap' of Javed and Shilpa joins with her fresh voice. The tempo gains momentum as the song progresses while soft percussions give company with Yuvan's fillers increasing the pace along with euphonic instruments like the harmonium. Javed voices the essence of the song flawlessly.

Both the singers, Javed and Shilpa have sung proving to be better of the other. Yuvan's romantic composition for this song is incredible. A keen ear will make you spot a romantic part in the song where Shilpa sings and Javed accompanies with his hum, credit to the director and the music composer.  Yuvan's composed a lovely duet with a soft catchy humming. Listen to it!

4. Theaivam Illai - Listen here

Singer: Madhu Balakrishnan

Lyricist: Yugabharathi

Well the album has been a fun ride till now. Yuvan's has made sure the sad song of the album is in the last.

`Theaivam Illai.' starts off with a beautiful rendition of the flute with soft beats and the melancholic tone of Madhu Balakrishnan follows though his voice reminds us of the great Yesudas. Yuvan's compositions for such songs have been brilliant in the past and he's been consistent in composing this song as well.

The percussions in the past with the flute rendition are filled aptly between paragraphs while Madhu Balakrishnan's sings steadily given the slow tone. Sounds like the song will appear in the background in the movie and montages will appear on the screen, but our guesses would be right only when the movie releases.

Yuvan's Musical Brilliance

The beats, the harmony and Yuvan's vocals himself, `Naan Mahaan Alla' is an output of pure musical brilliance by Yuvan. Look out for the second song of the album, it will glue to your mouth!
