The Nadigar Sangam Elections are going to be held on the June 23rd at the Janaki MGR college in Chennai under the officiation of the retired judge Padmanaban.  The incumbent office bearers including President Nasser, Secretary Vishal and the Treasurer Karthi are re-contesting for their posts.  However one of the Vice Presidents Ponvannan is not contesting and actor Poochi Murugan has taken his place.  Media speculations are rife that the senior actor-director is displeased with his team.

Ponvannan in an exclusive interview to us has explained that his team the Pandavar Ani had done the best to their abilities in fulfilling the promises they made and even the proposed Nadigar Sangam building is delayed only due to various government documentation and litigations.  Ponvannan has stated that he is writing a historical book which requires extensive research.  Since he needs to devote a lot of time on this pet project he has apparently decided not to contest the elections but assured that he is ready to assist the new elects in any way he can if asked.   Do watch the full video interview for more from Ponvannan.
