The Nadigar Sangam building is situated in Habibullah road in T.Nagar Chennai where a fire broke out early on Monday morning at around 4.30 am. Neighbours alerted the fire department who rushed to the spot and battled with the fire for close to three hours before subduing it.

It is said that the spark started in the kitchen area and then spread to the other parts of the building and it is said that important files, documents and computers have been destroyed and luckily no one was hurt.

The Nadigar Sangam new building is only half done as a dispute arose between the Pandavar Ani (office bearers) and other members. The association is now under the control of a government-appointed officer.
