Naqaab

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Hindi Comments

What happens when an individual is not what he/she seems?
What happens when love is not what it seems?
What happens when intentions are disguised?

Dhoka, fareb, intrigue, mystery, betrayal, back stabbing, thrills, chills and a lot of suspense!

Life seemed simple for Karan Khanna [Bobby Deol], Sophie [Urvashi Sharma] and Vicky Malhotra [Akshaye Khanna]. Well amost! There were times when a match between two individuals belonging to different economic class seemed difficult. But not anymore? This is why there weren't many eyebrows raised when multi millionaire Karan fell in love with middle class Sophie. She reciprocated and there wasn't any hassle of sorts when the two decided to be soul mates forever.

Living in with Karan, Sophie had all the love, happiness, riches and glamour of the world in her lap as she would have ever desired.

Until she met Vicky!

A charming young man who almost swept Sophie away from her feet, Vicky wasn't too demanding. He was fine with her spending time with Karan; his only demand was to have his share of her love as well.

Does it become difficult for Sophie to live a dual life? Especially since she found herself falling for Vicky? Well, perhaps! Because on one hand she had the unconditional love of Karan to look at while on the other she had Vicky's charm making her go weak on her knees?

But is that what NAQAAB has to offer? A story about a woman trapped between two men? Naah! The game is much bigger than this. The plot much thicker. And the intentions far more disguised!

Because there is a 'naqaab', a mask, that each of the three lead protagonists are wearing! Is everything the same as it seemed? Are the situations only as complex as they appeared?

Did each of the three have a deadly past that was hitherto unknown to even the ones closest to them?

Is Karan as white as he seemed?
Is Sophie as gray as she appeared?
Is Vicky the only one with black shades around?

Is there someone else, a fourth protagonist, who was quietly watching the three get into a situation that was perhaps created by him? Was this 'someone else' just waiting for the right time to make his moves? Is this the man who was wearing the ultimate 'naqaab'?

Come Friday, the 13th July, and the answers should be out as Abbas Mustan churn out yet another deadly thriller from their stable!
