Navya Nair's debut venture in Tamil Azhagiya Theeyae did well and won her good reviews.

So it is little surprise that she is back for more.

The Malayalam actress would be acting in a movie titled Amirtham. Penned, produced and directed by Vedam Puthithu fame Kannan, the movie stars a new face Ganesh opposite her.

Kannan had worked as a scriptwriter with experienced directors like K Balachander and Bharathiraja and had even wrote many short stories and screenplay for many television serials.

A national-award winner for best dialogues in his Vedam Puthithu, Kannan's debut directorial venture,

Amirtham is supposedly an off-beat entertainer which would have Girish Karnad, Rajeev and Seetha in the main roles.

Interestingly, Bhavatharini, daughter of music maestro Ilayaraja would be scoring the tunes for the movie. She had earlier rendered songs for the movie Mitr-My Friend, directed by Revathy Menon.

When asked about Amirtham, Kannan says, "it would be a refreshing movie for the audience. Strong storyline with artistes like Girish Karnad, Navya Nair and Seetha, it is certain to be a good entertainer for the masses".

The movie would be released early next year.

For Navya, who plays an Iyengar girl in the film, it is a good opportunity to cement her place in Kollywood.
