Having proved his acting skills with his unusual performances in ‘Kahaani’ and ‘Talaash’, actor Nawazuddin Siddique will be next seen in ‘Bombay Talkies’, the much awaited film that celebrated 100 years of Indian Cinema.

After showcasing different shades of acting, the actor will once again going to be seen in a unique role in the upcoming film.

In ‘Bombay Talkies’, the actor will be playing a Marathi man for the first time onscreen and for this particular character Nawaz said to have learnt Marathi. According to IndiaGlitz sources, Nawazz attended workshop to get trained in the language. In fact for Nawaz who has never spoken Marathi earlier since he hails from North, it was quite an experience for him.

I have learned a new language; approximately 40 per cent of my dialogues are in Marathi. I attended a special workshop to learn the language and be able to deliver my dialogues perfectly. It was quite challenging, so I hope people appreciate the effort we have put into making this a special film, shared Nawaz, who plays the character of a resident of Lalbaug in the film.

Interestingly, since the film will have a nation-wide release, director Dibakar Banerjee has decided to add subtitles with all the dialogues in Marathi. There are many instances in the film where Nawaz’s character speaks in Marathi, so all those lines will have subtitles in English for people who do not understand the regional language, Dibakar confirmed.

Directed by four directors - Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap, ‘Bombay Talkies’ releases on 3rd May.
