Ahead of the release of 'Karthavyam' on March 16, its short teaser is out. Nayanthara is unarguably playing an activist bureaucrat who is all for people-friendly policies. Common good should guide policies, rather people are expected to submit to expedient policies, her righteous character emotionally says in the teaser.

"Our film deals with the subject of a child accidentally falling into a borewell that has been left uncovered due to negligence and callousness. Nayanthara leads the operation to get the child out of danger. Her stunning performance was widely acclaimed in the original version. We are releasing the Telugu teaser to mark the Women's Day," the makers say.

The socially message-driven film, the dubbed version of 'Aramm', is written and directed by Gopi Nainar. Also starring Vignesh, Ramesh, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Ramachandran Durairaju and Anand Krishnan, it has music by Ghibran. Om Prakash of 'Chakram', 'Danger' and 'Krishnarjuna' fame is the cinematographer. Editing is by Gopi Krishna.

R Ravindran, who has distributed 450 movies in the South, and Sharrath Marar of North Star Entertainments, are joining hands under Trident Arts for this movie.
