Nayanthara-Kavin's 'Hi' Set for Grand Worldwide Release on August 14

The wait is finally over for fans of Nayanthara and Kavin. The makers of Hi have officially announced that the much-anticipated family entertainer will release in theatres worldwide on August 14. Along with the announcement, the team unveiled a special release date video, giving audiences another glimpse into the film’s vibrant world.

One of the biggest highlights of Hi is the fresh on-screen pairing of Lady Superstar Nayanthara and Kavin, who are sharing screen space for the very first time. The film is directed by Vishnu Edavan, who makes his directorial debut after working as a writer and lyricist on several successful films.

Apart from the lead pair, Hi features a strong supporting cast including K. Bhagyaraj, Prabhu, Radhika Sarathkumar, VTV Ganesh, Sathyan, Adithya Kathir, and Qureshi in key roles. The technical team includes cinematographer Rajesh Shukla, music composer Jen Martin, editor Philomin Raj, and production designer S. Kannan.

The project is jointly produced by Zee Studios, The Rowdy Pictures, and Seven Screen Studio, with Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, and S.S. Lalit Kumar serving as producers. Vinodh C.J. and K.S. Mayil Vaganan are the co-producers, while V.K. Kubeendran is the creative producer.

The film has already built impressive pre-release buzz, especially after its first single received a strong response online, collecting millions of views across digital platforms. With the release date now locked, expectations have only grown stronger.

Speaking about his debut directorial venture, Vishnu Edavan said Hi has been designed as a complete family entertainer.

“Hi is a simple, heartwarming film that brings together humour, emotions and relationships. It is a wholesome entertainer that families can enjoy together. Set in Chennai, Coimbatore and Pollachi, the story unfolds with warmth and positivity. Like classics such as Darling Darling Darling, Santhosh Subramaniam and Yaaradi Nee Mohini, this film doesn’t rely on a traditional villain but instead celebrates human emotions.”

Before stepping into direction, Vishnu Edavan was associated with Lokesh Kanagaraj on blockbuster films including Kaithi, Master, and Vikram. With a refreshing storyline, the first-ever pairing of Nayanthara and Kavin, and a promising blend of comedy and emotions, Hi is shaping up to be one of the most awaited Tamil family entertainers of the year.
