Netizens' challenge: Navjot Singh Sidhu should resign

Punjab minister and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu is in for a challenge from netizens. There is an interesting reason behind it.

Last month, while campaigning in Uttar Pradesh, Sidhu famously said that he would quit politics if Smriti Irani wins over Rahul Gandhi from Amethi. Well, that has happened. The BJP candidate has trounced the Congress chief in an unexpected way.

Netizens are now asking Sidhu to keep his word and tender his resignation. "Sidhu has to leave politics once and for all. He recently claimed that Irani is not so popular in Amethi. What just happened is that Rahul has been trumped in his family bastion," a social media user said.
