New poster of Lucifer sparks controversy

Celebrating the success of Prithviraj's debut directorial 'Lucifer's, starring Mohanlal in the lead, the makers of the movie released a new promotional poster.

Featuring the superstar handcuffed kicking a policemen on the chest, the poster reads, 'how dare you touch my boys?' (translated from Malayalam). While fans and audience are celebrating the poster on social media, it has sparked controversy after an Kerala Police Association made a complaint to chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Demanding action against the usage of such violent posters disrespecting Police, KPA alleged that the poster sends a wrong message to the youngsters."This advertisement also has a title which sends a wrong message to people. No action against such posters undoubtedly creates lawlessness. Earlier, criminals were attacking police, but nowadays our youth is also involved in such criminal acts," reads a portion of the complaint.

However, the thrilled viewers have come forward supporting the Lucifer team saying that the movie is being drawn into unnecessary controversies.

Meanwhile, the movie has reportedly garnered Rs 50 Crore from nearly 4000 screens worldwide in just a week!
