New twist in Agri Gold case

In a crucial twist to the Agri Gold case, the company has today submitted to the High Court in Hyderabad that it doesn't own the properties of Hailand.

When Agri Gold's counsel made this submission, the HC judge dealing with the case reportedly questioned why this was not intimated before. The court has asked Agri Gold to file an affidavit making the submission formal.

The court has expressed dissatisfaction over the CID's investigation into the high-profile scandal. The HC said that it might set up a Special Investigation Team to probe the scam. It has asked the government to submit the details of the assets owned by Agri Gold district-wise.
