No director does self-introspection: JD

  • IndiaGlitz, [Sunday,June 24 2012]

More than his films, JD Chakravarthy's words entertain us. A talent nurtured once by RGV, JD is known for his witty remarks in his interviews. More often than not, he makes compelling points. Unlike his guru, he makes sense when he speaks.

He is back in news because he is directing All The Best, which will release in July. The film features him in a special but resolute-as-Sehwag role, while Srikanth plays a full-time, Sachin-like role. The film has 63 characters, who happen to wish others 'all the best' at one point or another. The film's strong point is its script, the director-actor says.

Hits or no hits, he will continue to make films. Did Rajamouli and Vinayak stop making films after they delivered hits? I will make films until I deliver a hit. I will make more films to deliver more hits after I deliver a hit, he coins.

He never self-introspected when his films flopped. No director in the world is known to do self-introspection. That’s why they end up making flops. Siddham and Homam did not lose money. They earned profits. Also, Darwaza Bandh Rakho made its way to New York Institute of Technology syllabus.
