Most buses in the state usually play movies and music to entertain the travellers during their journey. It is also common knowledge that sometimes these buses play newly released movies as well. Even last year Vishal and team iddentified two transport companies playing new movies and a case was filed against them.

Pertaining to this, from now onwards the Intellectual Property Right Enforcement Cell (IPREC) has ordered transport companies to not screen movies or play music without proper rights. In response to this, bus owners have stated that it was not practically viable to buy rights for movie screenings in buses. In addition to this, they had also vouched that no buses would play movies or music starting from December 31.

This has come as a welcome news to Vishal who holds responsibilty as the President of the Tamil Film Producers Council and it is the general hope that this is also a step ahead in curbing piracy.
