Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has requested that devotees not play "vulgar" film songs and not gamble during the kanwar yatra this year.

Asking devotees not to "show off", he said that such activities did not "go with religious feelings." He further added that it was "improper to indulge in gambling after worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali."

The CM, who was a visit to the city on the Indo-Nepal border, said that Nepal and India were "two bodies and one soul" and that it was necessary to ensure skills development training to both people, especially Nepalese people, so as to deter those who tried to target India with Nepal as the centre.
