Katherine Hadda of the US Consul General in Hyderabad has expressed her happiness over Mahesh Babu shooting for 'Maharshi' in the New York City. Taking to Twitter, she said, "Look who are shooting their next film in my hometown of New York City?" Katherine used the hashtag #usindiadosti for the tweet.

Vamshi Paidipally has chosen the city to shoot scenes that happen in the US. Most of the film unfolds in the backdrop of some or the other Western city. Starring Pooja Hegde as the heroine, 'Maharshi' also has Allari Naresh in a supporting role.

Besides, the Tollywood superstar will attend a special fundraising evening in solidarity with Heal-A-Child and The Gramam Foundation in New York City. It will be a dinner on 27 October. The news was officially confirmed on Sunday by Namrata Shirodkar.
