Official! Sujeeth is out, VV Vinayak is in for Chiranjeevi's 'Lucifer'

The Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit 'Lucifer' has found its director. It's not Sujeeth Sign, the director of Prabhas' 'Saaho'. It's VV Vinayak.

Speaking to a newspaper, Megastar Chiranjeevi said that Sujeeth was supposed to direct the remake but he excused himself from the project due to marriage plans. So, Chiru asked his 'Khaidi No. 150' director to chip in.

It's safe to assume that Chiru had asked both Sujeeth and Vinayak to work on the remake script, and found the script by the latter more satisfying than the former.

This one is going to be Vinayak's third film with the legendary actor. Their first film together was 'Tagore' in 2003. And it was with 'Khaidi No. 150' that Chiru made a huge comeback in 2017. Like 'Lucifer', the other two films, too, were remakes. It's a coincidence that the 'Aadi' and 'Adurs' director has done remakes with Chiru every time!

The untitled remake will go on the floors in 2021.
