'Oh Baby': A bit underwhelming opening

Oh Baby' has reportedly mopped up Rs 1.35 cr of distributor share in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Day 1 (Friday). Although this is the best figure earned by a Samantha film, the figure is a bit underwhelming for a reason.
'U-Turn', despite facing stiff competition from Naga Chaitanya's 'Sailaja Reddy Alludu' and being a thriller, collected a share of Rs 1.10 Cr on Day 1 last year. Since 'Oh Baby' is a family entertainer and a comedy, it should have opened in a bigger way. The one factor which went in favour of 'U-Turn' and which is absent in the case of 'Oh Baby' is that the former released on a festival day.
Given the positive word of mouth and the genre, it should cross the figure of 'U-Turn' by a distance in its lifetime.
Directed by Nandini Reddy, 'Oh Baby' has Lakshmi, Rajendra Prasad and Rao Ramesh in key roles.
