On World Music Day lets remember most underrated composer from TFI - Susarla Dakshinamurty!

We have read lot about Salluru Rajeswara Rao, TV Raju, Pendyala Nageswararao, Ghantasala, MS Viswanathan, KV Mahadevan, Chakravarthy, Satyam, Ilaiyaraja, Raj-Koti, Keeravani, SP Balasubramanyam when it comes to Telugu Film music but we don't normally talk about Susarla Dakshinamurthy in the same vain.

He started composing music for films back in 1943 and his first film is Narada Naradi. His first major success is Laila Majnu that released in 1946 - starring Bhanumathi Ramakrishna and ANR, but as a playback singer. He composed in his first days with C.R. Subburaman and Ramanathan.

From Ilavelpu, he majorly started composing on his own and gave tremendous hits. Annapoorna film became a huge success with his music album as an advantage. When he got the chance to compose for Narthanasala, he gave his lifetime best, without any doubt.

Post that film, he got busy with his private concerts and returned to compose for films very rarely. He composed for Paramanandayya Shishyula Katha and after almost 13 years composed for Sri Madvirat Parvam and after another 5 years composed for Srimadvirat Veerabhramendra Swamy. He was forgotten in the wave of KV Mahadevan and later, Chakravarthy.

But he is the composer of all-time hits like Dariki Raboku Raboku Raja, Challani Raja O Chandamama, Janani Siva Kamini, Salalitha Sudharasa Saaram, Parama Gurudu, Panchamudani Ninu, Shiva Govinda. He might have been forgotten by many, but his music remains as fresh as the whiff of air we experience in the Morning time.
