Only I & Jr NTR can do such movies: Balakrishna

The success meet of 'Aravindha Sametha' was held on Sunday at Hyderabad's Shilpakala Vedika. Balakrishna graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Kalyan Ram said, "After watching the climax, I could only think highly of Trivikram garu. Unlike his previous films, this film is not calm-going. Jagapathi Babu garu is like a family member. Everyone in the film has lived their character, not just enacted it. I am a big fan of Illayaraja garu. For the firs time, I was reminded of him listening to Thaman's music. I thank Balayya Babai for gracing this occasion despite his busy schedules. Had Nanna garu been alive, it would have been great. But his absence has been made good by mana Balayya."

NTR began his speech by profusely thanking the fans for making 'Aravindha' a huge success. He said, "Trivikram garu is my friend, well-wisher and like a family member. I thank the audience for giving him this success at the right time. I am sharing this joy not only with you but also with Babai. As Anna just said, Nanna garu is not with us but he must be watching us, firmly sitting here amidst us. In my father's place, Babai has come here today."

Balakrishna began his speech like a politician. He recounted his brother late Harikrishna's association with the TDP. "He was always straightforward, bold and honest. He never feared anybody. I can't believe that he is not amidst us. I am overcome with sadness. His heart would melt with mercy. When Nanna garu founded the TDP, he was a support system for him (NT Rama Rao). When he was an RTC Minister, he waived road tax to help the farmers. He gave jobs to women as bus conductors. He strived for the development of Hindupur. Johar Nandamuri Harikrishna!" Balayya said.

"I should thank the audience for making 'Aravindha Sametha' such a big hit. Success meets like this are held when something good happens, etc. A devotee expresses his gratitude to God by worshipping him. Meets like this are like that. Cinema is a source of entertainment. I am yet to watch 'Aravindha' as I have been busy with my film. I know the theme, though. The film conveys that it's not a big deal for women to rule us. As my character says in 'Legend', 'Even Gods are born from a mother's womb'. I have done 'Gautamiputra Satakarni', which also speaks of women's greatness. Pen is mightier than the sword. Trivikram garu's stories and dialogues are razor-sharp. His films are as beautiful as flowing pearls. He is a director the Telugu film industry should be proud of. Jagapathi Babu did 'Legend' and earned so much name. He has since continued to better himself 10 times. He is reaching new heights and I congratulate him," Balayya said.

"The kind of films I and Jr NTR do are larger-than-life. Nobody else can do them. The Telugu man always expects Gonguru Panchhadi whatever you may give him. Our films are like that. We will continue to do thought-provoking movies. Competition should be healthy and shouldn't be mean-spirited," he continued.

Balayya gave a glowing introduction to Pooja Hegde and uttered a Hindi verse. Praising Sirivennela and Ramajogaiah Sastry, he talked about the greatness of Telugu. He appreciated Thaman. "Music has an evocative quality. If the soundtrack is good, it's half-success," he added.

It's very difficult to carry forward a legacy. "My fans are always disciplined and are like soldiers," he said. He mentioned that NT Rama Rao became a CM within 9 months of forming the TDP.
