Oopiri Storm to Continue at Box Office

Oopiri that released last week has been declared as a mega block buster and it is one of the few movies in recent times that has been unanimously applauded. Despite the so called lean season of March and exam lull in the market, Oopiri has surpassed the expectations of the trade and the industry. Hailed as Nagarjuna's hat trick block buster, Oopiri is set to collect massively through out the summer season.
Critics like Taran Adarsh and Subash Jha have reviewed Oopiri in glowing terms and they have declared it as one of the best movies in recent times. In overseas trade, Oopiri is opening up new avenues for showcasing by being screened in countries like Botswana, Tanzania, Kenya and Thailand. These countries are not the regular centres for Telugu movies and the extremely positive talk has prompted exhibitors from different countries to come forward for screening.
It is already well documented by Forbes magazine and other media, that Oopiri is doing very well in USA and collected close to a million dollars in the first weekend itself that too at regular, non-premium ticket prices. In the neighbouring state of Karnataka, it has opened very well with strong collections.
With its clean, family friendly content, Oopiri is a landmark film that will be among the all time greats of Telugu Cinema. The success of such a movie cannot be measured based on the box office performance of just five days but over the entire summer season.
