The World’s largest film studio complex opened in China

Chinese Billionaire Wang Jianlin has opened up his Oriental Movie Metropolis (Dong Fang Ying Du.in Chinese) a massive film hub set on a landscape of 926 acres that had cost 7.9 billion USD to build.  The property houses aboiut 30 studios which are the world’s largest, commercial complexes, hotels, condos, two theaters and a yacht club.

Wang is keen to attract Hollywood big names to come to Qingdao and use his facilties and on Saturday there was a huge turnout in the inauguration ceremonies.  Right now some big budget Chinese movies are using the studios but the management would like Hollywood and other foreign filmmakers to use the world class facilities.
