The US intelligence sources have reportedly claimed that Hamza bin Laden, son of the slained terrorist Osama bin Laden, is dead. His age is believed to be 30 but it's not certain. He had called for Jihadist attacks on the US to avenge the killing of his father, Osama, in 2011.

Hamza was the "potential heir" to the jihadist empire that his late father had built. The US felt that he was the "emerging leader of Al-Qaeda".

In 2015, Al-Qaeda leader Zawahiri famously introduced Hamza as “a lion from the den of Al-Qaeda". The terrorist organization always took care not to reveal Hamza's face for "security reasons". "Hamza was beloved by the global jihadi community. His speeches stressed unity, never criticizing ISIS (a critical difference from Zawahiri). He was seen as a future leader who would unite the global jihad. Thus, if he is indeed dead, it will be a major blow to the movement," says Rita Katz of SITE Intelligence Group.
