Pa Ranjith to explore unknown side of Silk Smitha in his next

Silk Smitha who ruled the roost as the sexiest item girl ever in Indian cinema met a tragic death at the age of 35 in 1996. A biopic on her was made in Hindi titled 'Dirty Picture' in 2011 with Vidya Balan portraying her character.
More than two decades since her death Silk Smitha continues to be enigma and director Pa. Ranjith is making a web series focusing on the hitherto unknown side of her childhood which was instrumental in making her what she was. The actress who plays Silk and other cast and crew details is expected soon.
Ranjith after the success of 'Kaala' is directing a Bollywood film next for which the casting is underway and his production venture 'Pariyerum Perumal' directed by Maari Selvaraj and starring Kathir and Anandhi is slated for release in September.
