Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

Padhavi Paduthum Paadu is one such which deals in a hilarious way the life of forest brigand Veerappan. Ranjith plays Veerappan while Anamika plays his wife Muthulakshmi.

Ramalingam, a one-time associate of K Bhagyaraj, is directing the movie. He says "though it is about Veerappan, it's no serious stuff. It's a political spoof certain to draw humour in the theatre."

Noted writer Sathya's series of  hilarious articles about Veerappan in a Tamil weekly is being churned out as Padhavi Paduthum Paadu.

Actor Ranjith, who is playing the lead role, says, "It's a political satire narrated in a light-hearted and entertaining manner. Though many movies have been made inspired by sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, this movie is different for it evokes no sympathy on him, but exposes the greed of contemporary politicians through him".

The movie was shot in Chennai, Tiruvannamalai and also in the Sathyamangalam,Andhiyur forest areas where Veerappan lived.

Gandhi Dasan, who scored music for Kummalam, has composed six numbers for the movie. Produced by G Murthy, Padhavi Paduthum Paadu is ready for release this month-end
