Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has suffered a decline in his fortune, but has retained his billionaire status with declared assets of Rs 1.72 billion in 2016, thanks to his son Hussain. Sharif's son sends in substantial sums from Saudi Arabia, where he is doing business. According to reports released by the Election Commission of Pakistan, Sharif's assets were worth Rs. 1.82 billion in 2013, a whopping 6-times increase from his Rs. 261.6 million in 2012, and he eventually became a billionaire in 2014. Since 2015, however, there has been a gradual decrease in his assets. With a wide range of investments and property, Sharif is one of the richest lawmakers of Pakistan.
