'Paper Boy' using Shoban's goodwill for promotions

Not many know that Santosh Shoban, the debut hero of 'Paper Boy', comes from a film background. He is the son of late director Shoban, who had made the superhit 'Varsham' in the early 2000s. When his career was taking off, the filmmaker unfortunately died due to a heart attack at a young age of 40.

Although Shoban has no Godfather in the industry, he is lucky to be getting the blessings of Prabhas (who was the hero of 'Varsham') and Mahesh Babu (who worked with Shoban for the film 'Bobby'). The makers of 'Paper Boy' are making use of the goodwill that the late Shoban has in the film industry for movie promotions. It's to the credit of both the 'Maharshi' star and the 'Saaho' actor to have appreciated the film's Trailer out of respect for Shoban.

Meanwhile, it's interesting that Geetha Arts is releasing the movie on August 31 at a time when 'Geetha Govindam', also a movie from its stable, is going good at the box-office. Last Friday's releases proved to be flops and the Vijay Deverakonda movie benefited. This week, 'GG' faces competition from Geetha Arts' own release 'Paper Boy', Naga Shaurya's 'Nartanasala' and Nayanthara's dark comedy 'CoCo Kokila'.
