The 60th National Awards were announced yesterday and several of our B-town celebrities have emerged out successfully, making to the honour.

Parineeti Chopra who made everyone sit up with her powerful role in ‘Ishqzaade’ earned Special Jury Mention for the film.

Feeling on top of the world, an ecstatic Parineeti stated, After winning so many debut awards I never thought I would win for Ishaqzaade but when I did, it was the biggest one in the country!! That too for my first lead role! I just cannot believe it. But this scares and humbles me, and will definitely make me work even harder in the future!! Thank you jury :).

While Parineeti faced the camera for the first time with Yash Raj Films’ ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Behl’, it was only with YRF’s next venture ‘Ishqzaade’ the bubbly beauty made her full-length debut as an actress.

Released in 2012, ‘Ishqzaade’ was also the launch pad for Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun Kapoor and the film was directed by Habib Faisal.
