Partiality by National Awards jury: Murugadoss

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,April 08 2017]

Ace director AR Murugadoss has alleged partiality on the part of the National Awards jury.

In a tweet made hours ago, he said that the list of winners is proof that the jury did use its clout. It's not clear who exactly ARM has in mind when he is saying this.

Sections of netizens are of the view that Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal getting awards in different categories is a case in point. This is contestable because Akshay is a deserving actor who has always got a raw deal at sponsored (non-state) awards, whereas Mohanlal is a legendary actor who did versatile roles in 2016. 'Pink' getting an award is also being ridiculed by some on the ground that Amitabh Bachchan is seen as close to the Modi regime.
