Remember your school and college days when there always used to be a guy (or a set of guys) who would invariably have a piece of advice to give when it came to woo a girl? This guy would usually be a super stud who would know much more than just a thing or two about getting into a female heart!
In PARTNER, the guy in question is Prem [Salman Khan]. 'Love Guru' for some, 'Date Doctor' for others!
In short, a man who had the key to a woman's heart. And he was ready to make many more of such keys for those who wanted to break this lock, albeit if they were ready to get into a commitment rather than a stray flick! And of course, pay a fee!
Bhaskar [Govinda] of course belonged to that breed of men for whom loving a woman was nothing short of worship. His only trouble? He was hardly the kind of man who would be given a second look by women. No, there was nothing wrong with him as a person. The only trouble here was that he was overtly shy of coming close to women and could only dream of having one in his life.
In his life did come Priya Jaisingh [Katrina Kaif]. A stunner of a female, she could be any man's dream come true. And this time around she turned out to be Bhaskar's dream. It was a difficult task not just for Bhaskar but for any man to find an entry to her heart. No, she wasn't difficult to approach or high headed. She was in fact a pretty-n-sweet female who had innocence written all over it.
Her only grudge with men was that they more often than not were ready to give in to anything she did and everything she said. Understandably so since she was the rich and famous daughter of an industrialist tycoon [Dalip Tahil]. This was the reason why she was looking for someone who would look at her as Priya and not Priya Jaisingh.
Now it was up to Prem to make sure that Bhaskar took his advice at every step and made his moves carefully. All this was done to make sure than not just Bhaskar finally manage to woo Priya but also see a turnaround in his personality.
But what happens to Prem himself in the meanwhile? Well, he has to reinvent some of his own tricks that he had developed over the years since in this journey of his, he found himself also falling in love with a gossip reporter called Naina [Lara Dutta]. A tough nut to crack, she herself was on the lookout for Prem since one of her friends was nursing a broken heart. Reason? The man responsible for this was none other than 'Love Guru'.
Bhaskar was in love with Priya, Priya could as well be falling in love with Bhaskar, Prem was making sure that he acts as cupid while there was a love story brewing between him and Naina too. And between all this fun and frolic, there was a character called 'Chotta Don' [Rajpal Yadav] who had some of his own interesting stories to tell.
A 'masala bhelpuri mix' in the offering, PARTNER promises to be a delicious offering by David Dhawan who returns after more than a year ever since his SHAADI NO. 1 released in Diwali 2005. PARTNER sees a worldwide release on 20th July.
