Pawan Kalyan announces manifesto promises in Rajahmundry

Jana Sena's 5th Formation Day was held on Thursday evening in Rajahmundry. Here we bring you the highlights of Pawan Kalyan's speech.

Some people advised me to seek a project from Chandrababu Naidu. I told them I don't need such a lowly life. I am a people's man.

I don't have any enemies in politics. I have no rivalry with Jagan garu or Chandrababu Naidu garu. I only demand accountability. I criticize the wrong kind of policies. But I fail to understand why they target me always. Have I ever sinned? Have I looted people? Have I divided people on the basis of caste?

Although I am rich, I am never happy. It's because I always think about the distress of people. Even my brother and my family members are not happy with me. They are vexed that I am a people's man who is mad about doing service.

There was a time when none was ready to offer me movies. But you (people) never deserted me.

I am not scared that I have no money to run the party. I take inspiration from the likes of Mahatma Gandhi and Bhagat Singh. They didn't have crores of rupees to be people's heroes.

I have been to Rayalaseema. It's a great place where Annamayya, Veerabrahmendra Swamy and others walked. People project it as a place filled with bloodthirsty people.

Telangana needs Jana Sena. Our party believes in the unity of the Telugu people.

Can the dynastic politicians prefer backward classes for tickets instead of favouring their families? I never generalize a whole people. I have told my elder son not to generalize when he recently complained that 'they all have hurt me'. I told him only particular individuals hurt him, not everyone. He told me sorry.

I always fight for the unity of castes. I don't know if we will realize Ambedkar's dream of a casteless society. But the gulf between the castes can be reduced. I have been advised to criticize my opponents on the pretext that they promote only particular castes. But I can't do such politics.

My opponents have abused me by making personal remarks. I have kept quiet. But I can't tolerate if they continue to loot the State.

When I started out five years ago with Jana Sena, everyone had their doubts. They wanted to verify if I will become corrupt. They wanted to see my oratorical skills.

During my Porata Yatra, I learned that people are demanding basic needs like healthcare. They are not greedy. Farmers deprived of lands are crying for compensation. Working women want creche facilities. I have prepared my manifesto by walking among people.

When I visited a village, I was saddened to know that people are vying for even drinking water. I got a borewell arranged with my money. When a single person can do this, can't we solve so many problems with all the MLAs and MPs?

Jana Sena's Promises:

Jana Sena government will give Rs 8,000 to every farmer who owns less than one acre of land. If budget permits, it will be hiked to Rs 10,000.

Rythu Rakshana Bharosa Scheme will transfer a pension of Rs 5,000 to the poor, landless tenants, tillers, etc.

We will make farmers partners in industrialization. We will create opportunity zones through which land-giving farmers will get direct benefits.

We will complete the Penugonda project. River inter-linking in Uttarandhra, repairs of reservoirs, construction of new ones will be undertaken to benefit the farmers and domestic users.

Small vendors will be ensured hassle-free business environment. They are victims of petty corruption. Neither local governments nor police or anybody can harass them.

We have appropriate plans to better the lot of fishermen. They will be provided guaranteed employment for certain days every year. We will provide them clean drinking water within 2 years of coming to power.
