It is rare nowadays for films to withstand in theaters for more than ten days at the most and only 2018 saw Superstar Rajinikanth's '20.0', Vijay Sethupathi-Trisha's '96' and Vishnu Vishal's 'Ratsasan' hitting the 50th day mark and that too the last two films released on the same day as well.

2019 has had a good start for Kollywood as Superstar Rajinikanth and Thala Ajith clashed at the box office for Pongal and both have emerged big winners for all concerned in the trade. Fans of both Thalaivar and Thala are celebrating the 25th Day of 'Petta' and 'Viswasam' today in many theaters across the state. Trade analysts are of the opinion that these two films together will collect around 450 Crores giving a boost to Kollywood.
