PhD student arrested over FB post

Kubera A, a doctoral student from Annamalai University has been arrested for his Facebook through which he allegedly incited students to participate in a protest held on July 20 against State-sponsored violence'.

Kuberan is a member of the Tamil Dhesiya Periyakkam, whose leader P Maniarsan has condemned the arrest and said that the Constitution allowed for people to gather peacefully. Earlier this month, another student was arrested for speaking out against the ONGC project in Neduvasal and Kadiramanagalam.
